My wife, Cheryl, and I have had a presence on Orcas Island since 2009. We have been full-time residents for four years, following my retirement after a 41-year career as a medical practitioner in a private practice. Approximately twenty percent of my practice time was spent in a rural community, and it was there that I saw the inherent differences between delivering healthcare in a rural versus a large metropolitan area. As the reach of primary healthcare continues to evolve, I hope to assist the District in providing access to an optimal and sustainable level of quality healthcare services on Orcas Island.

In our free time, we enjoy boating, hiking, fishing and golf, despite a definite lack of expertise for the latter activity.
