What are the Orcas Island community norms around drug and alcohol use for both youth and adults? Please consider taking the Community Survey to share your perspective!

Orcas Island Health Care District has been a partner with the Coalition for Orcas Youth for several years. COY, as they are referred to, brings together community organizations, community members, and youth to focus on establishing positive community norms around drugs, alcohol, and other prevention focused areas. Their work epitomizes the approach to community organizing that exists on Orcas Island.

A brief description from the 2025 Coalition of Orcas Youth Survey Page - Adult beliefs about youth use of alcohol and marijuana/cannabis have a strong influence on youth behavior. We will use the results of this survey to plan community programs and activities designed to keep Orcas youth safe and healthy.  The survey is for all residents and regular visitors of Orcas Island. Please help us to learn more about our communities perceptions on these issues!
